Introduction

Background

Information provided by Dr. Carl D. Herbster ED.D, Pastor of Tri City Baptist Church.

As Pastor of Tri-City Baptist Church, I am excited about the opportunities that await us in Romania.
Through the efforts of Tri-City, six local churches have been started in the Kansas City area. We are equally excited about church planting on the foreign mission field. Since 1993, we have been involved in Romania supporting the efforts of Dan and Lyn Sehested, missionaries with Baptist World Missions. The Lord has made known to us the need to train nationals to reach their own country for Christ. Therefore God had led us to establish the Coleguil Baptist Independent din Romania. (CBIR)

During 1999, Missionary Ron White made a trip to Romania with the purpose of seeking out a place for one of our new missionary families, Baron and Joyce Howerton, to serve. The Lord led us to Brother Ed Hembree, a veteran BIMI missionary of eight years. He had started several churches and had a Bible institute where over 50 men have prepared for the ministry. During this fact-finding trip, the need to begin a four-year Bible college to meet a greater need to train nationals to reach their own country was confirmed. In October 2000, our ministry voted to start a Bible college to train Romanians to reach Romania for Christ.

The building is a quality, European-syle, three-story building and includes a cafeteria for resident students. Please reference the loaction view for more details

The project and ongoing effort associated with the Bible college is a team effort. The primary Romanian focus is led by Ed Hembree, who functions as the director of the college. The Hembrees, Sehesteds, Howertons and Tylers work together to provide quality instruction. Ron White is the vice president and provides curriculum and academic leadership and support to the team. As I serve as president of the college, I provide overall leadership and direction for this very important endeavor.

In May of this year the college choir will be traveling throughout Romania introducing young people to the college. Jennifer Hembree, Erin Walker, Ed Hembree, and Ron White will travel with the group. The choir consists of the student body along with some of the faculty members.

Your financial contribution and prayer support for this project is greatly appreciated.
